Mark Nichols, AIA, FACHA, LEED AP | Principal
Mark is a project manager with three decades of experience in healthcare planning and design. He is skilled at creating design solutions for elaborate programs. He believes in balancing operations, technology, and patient-centered care models to create an environment that best supports both patients and providers. His approach has resulted in many long-lasting client relationships.
Mark’s experience prior to joining ESA included serving as principal and project leader for major expansion and renovation projects at various healthcare institutions, with a focus on surgery and ICU services within existing campus constraints. His resume also includes facilities for cardiac care, cancer care, rehabilitation, behavioral health, and radiology services.
Mark is recognized in the industry for his strong management skills and ability to deliver high-quality designs that meet the needs of his clients. He was named a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Architects and serves on their Board of Regents. He has also served as chair of the AIA Chicago Healthcare Knowledge Community.
