The Town of Normal Municipal Office build-out project is on the second floor of One Uptown Circle, a mixed-use building (designed by Eckenhoff Saunders) situated in the center of Uptown Normal, Illinois.
Overlooking the Town’s urban circle, the office build-out houses 25 municipal employees from the Planning & Zoning, Inspections, Traffic, Engineering, and Facilities departments. The design aesthetic embraces an urban, industrial character by exposing the underside of the structure above and featuring contrasting tones between the walls and floor with pops of the Town’s branding color throughout. An abstract map of Normal was integrated as a graphic iteration of the Town’s direct influence on the transforming urban landscape.
