When complete, ESA’s multi-phased implementation of Skokie Hospital’s master plan will include approximately 250,000 SF of new space and the renovation of approximately 340,000 SF. Integral to the campus transformation is the recently completed 76,000 SF Surgical Pavilion and pedestrian bridge. The Bridge will provide a connection between the Hospital Lobby and the Lobby of the 130,000 SF Ambulatory Care Center, completed in February of 2013. Exterior improvements include the replacement of the bed tower envelope, re-finishing metal wall panels, and adding an outdoor plaza adjacent to the cafeteria within the front yard of the hospital campus.
The hospital’s first floor is being reorganized to upgrade existing clinical departments, reflect advancements in medicine and technology, bring the facility up to code, and optimize efficiencies with the health system’s other campuses. The primary components of the interior renovation include a new 10,500 SF Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory with room for expansion; a 7,500 SF Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine Suite that will include a PET CT and associated support space; an 11,000 SF Radiology Suite to serve both inpatient and outpatient populations featuring two MRIs, two CTs, four X-ray rooms, two Ultrasound rooms, and two vascular ultrasound rooms. Other projects include fully renovated in-patient room floors, in-patient pharmacy, GI Unit, Outpatient Physical Therapy, and a 10,000 SF Clinical Laboratory. Future projects include new ASU, and ICU departments, and visitor elevator tower.
