Gottlieb Memorial Hospital Emergency Department Expansion

Gottlieb Memorial Hospital – Loyola Medicine retained Eckenhoff Saunders to improve their Emergency Department (ED) operations and patient care. The scope of services includes the renovation of the existing first floor west wing of the hospital. The range of interior work includes 11 exam rooms, 2-negative pressure isolation exam rooms, four behavioral health exam rooms, two triage rooms, four results pending bays, patient restrooms, staff locker rooms, staff breakroom, staff offices, clinical support areas (medication room, nourishment, lab, clean utility, soiled utility, and EVS closet), team station, registration, public restrooms, and waiting.

Site development includes the addition of a new entrance vestibule, new drop-off canopy, expansion of existing entrance canopy, rework of existing parking lots, and landscaping.  The new ED will focus on improving patient and staff safety, forward-thinking planning and anticipation of future trends and needs of the hospital, improving overall patient experience, segregating entrances for staff, patients and ambulances to improve access.
