Part of ESA's multi-year phased masterplan for Highland Park Hospital, the new 60,000 sf, three-story building houses the Kellogg Cancer Care Center, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, and the NorthShore Women’s Breast Center. It also contains a linear accelerator and PET scanner, along with physicians’ and administrative offices. The Ambulatory Care Center connects to the hospital via an enclosed walkway and the design blends with the campus to ensure a consistent visual identity. The building forms two garden areas, enhancing the hours spent by patients undergoing cancer treatment. Interiors are spacious and flooded with natural light, providing patients with a peaceful and calm place of treatment.
