Interior design and build-out of dermatology practice in the Lincoln Park/SoNo neighborhood

This 10,230 sf urban dermatology suite houses an eight-physician practice with 26 treatment rooms and an aesthetics suite. During the schematic design of the interior build-out, ESA explored both racetrack and pod arrangements for the individual physician practices.
The interior environment compliments the client’s desire for a spa-like space, as well as bringing natural light into the clinical corridors. Installing translucent resin at eye level along the perimeter of the windows satisfies the need for patient privacy while providing views to the urban streetscape.
ESA worked within health system’s new interior branding guidelines, implementing subtle refinements to showcase the group’s unique practice. The design was inspired by human skin and its fractal quality and also references the folding planes on the exterior of the building where office is located.
