Corporate headquarters and manufacturing facilities for telecommunications company on 16-acre site

Four components will ultimately make up this rapidly growing telecommunication company’s manufacturing facility, all of which will be clustered around a five-acre detention pond at the south end of the 16-acre site. Phase I of the three-phase project includes a Visitor’s Center (15,000 sf), administration wing (110,000 sf) and manufacturing wing (85,000 sf).
The first phase helped Westell establish a new corporate identity in anticipation of its initial public offering. Visible from half a mile’s distance, the Visitor’s Center is the facility’s main entrance. Inspiration for its silver planar wall came from the electronic switch cards Westell manufactures. The wall penetrates the building’s exterior and forms the porte cochere. In the interior, the wall separates the conference areas from the manufacturing facility.
