Ingalls Health System Tinley Park Campus

Masterplan of campus and design of multi-phased addition
Tinley Park, Illinois

As part of a strategic enhancement of Ingalls's competitive position in Chicago's south suburbs, ESA planned a multi-phased expansion of the Tinley Park Campus to reinforce its excellence in oncology services and create a cohesive campus identity. ESA's plan connects the campus's individual structures, both physically and architecturally. ESA designed new interior standards for the health system and added a new Cancer Care and Sleep Disorders Center, providing for 15,000 sf of additions and renovations.

The freestanding Cancer Care Center and Sleep Disorders Clinic connects to the rest of the campus via an enclosed walkway that overlooks a new healing garden. The Ambulatory Surgical Center was expanded with several new clinics (including physical and occupational therapy centers), a nuclear-camera suite, retail pharmacy, and several multi-use general clinics.

Increased demand following the initial expansion led to an addition to the Cancer Care Center one year later, an expansion of the healing garden, and an enhanced drop-off canopy and lobby entrance for the whole facility.
